Full Job Description

2.         Main purpose of the job:

 

 

 

  • To support the EMEA Learning and Development (L&D) function in delivery of training at a local / cross country level for allocated Countries and specifically the UK / ROI.
  • Support the Head of Learning & Development in implementing & maintaining the overall EMEA strategy for Oncology.
  • Deputise for the Head of Learning & Development in leading the team of remote Learning and Development (L&D) Managers and centrally-based EKC Corporate Learning and Development Manager to ensure Training needs are aligned and delivered to corporate objectives.
  • To lead, develop and manage the Oncology Learning and Development provision, including:
    • identification of training / development needs for the Oncology group across EMEA
    • design and delivery of effective learning and development solutions and where necessary manage the outsourcing of the design and delivery of such learning solutions
    • conduct robust post-course evaluation to ensure future learning is fit for purpose
  • ·         To have ownership of a learning and development speciality / package for EMEA, e.g. product(s), therapy area(s) and soft skills for Oncology, establishing and promoting blended learning opportunities within Eisai

4.         Main duties/responsibilities:

 

To drive commercial effectiveness:

  • To lead, develop and manage the Oncology Learning and Development provision, including:
    • identification of training / development needs for the Oncology group across EMEA
    • design and delivery of effective learning and development solutions and where necessary manage the outsourcing of the design and delivery of such learning solutions
    • conduct robust post-course evaluation to ensure future learning is fit for purpose
  • ·         To have ownership of a learning and development speciality / package for EMEA, e.g. product(s), therapy area(s) and soft skills for Oncology, establishing and promoting blended learning opportunities within Eisai  

 

Strategy

In collaboration with the Head of Learning & Development:

  • Lead the identification of training needs across Oncology EMEA and ensure consistency through collaboration in the implementation of training across EMEA
  • Produce a resourced annual training plan and programme based on training needs identified with and by the Oncology BG and EMEA support functions in line with legal codes of practise and Eisai’s commercial organisational overall aims and objectives, whilst maintaining continuity across EMEA.
  • Ensure standardisation and parity of in-house training courses across countries, workshops etc. to be delivered for both product and soft skills training for all Oncology and support departments
  • Ensure training is developed in co-ordination with Medical Affairs, Marketing and Sales Management and is relevant to internal Eisai stakeholders both at EKC and in the Local Affiliates to ensure that the training provided supports the aims, objectives & commercial effectiveness of the EMEA business
  • Carry out course evaluation and analysis and act on feedback where necessary to ensure high quality service provision and continuous improvement.

 

Commercial Training

  • Develop, co-ordinate and maintain in-house training courses, workshops etc. to be delivered on a rolling programme based on EMEA priorities and availability / changes in product data, as agreed with manager and local stakeholders.
  • Increase business and commercial knowledge to achieve business success and growth through training and development opportunities, for all local business units and allocated Countries.
  • Training needs to include the following:
    • Induction in local affiliate
    • Disease, Product and Competitor Knowledge
    • Clinical Trial Evaluation
    • Role specific skills
    • Leadership and Management Training where required
    • CRM and Business Intelligence
    • Any other training identified from Commercial and Marketing plans e.g. Challenger

 

Corporate training

  • Collaborate with HR and EKC based Learning and Development colleagues to optimise training resources across EEL, driving excellent performance and results
  • Support and implement training for non-promotional and field based individuals
  • Supervise induction of new starters, ensuring a collaborative learning strategy with HR
  • Define and articulate vision and strategies; identifying innovative opportunities to create value
  • Act as a local contact for all training and development needs for OBG UK affiliate employees
  • Collate all identified development needs for UK OBG affiliate employees via PDRs and plan subsequent development accordingly throughout the financial year
  • Evaluate training requests and provide analysis on training delivered, to whom, by department and at what cost on a monthly basis
  • Provide approval for training and development requests in line with budget and business objectives – challenge where appropriate and advise stakeholders
  • ·         Supporting HOD with the development of our talent by providing the appropriate learning interventions that are applicable across the region
  • Manage relationships with external vendors to provide a high quality portfolio of workshops which are cost effective and fit for purpose

 

Systems

  • Support the improvement & maintenance of training matrices comprising of SOPs, training modules and instructor-led learning events
  • Support the LMS implementation as part of the overall development strategy, ensure activities are managed effectively & distance learning is maximised via LMS

 

Compliance

  • Work in collaboration with Compliance to ensure training is delivered aligned to CIPD standards and evaluated as part of the Training Cycle across EEL and meets all local country compliance standards
  • Ensure all business operations comply with company standards and the relevant Code of Practice, and contribute to the monitoring of compliance with such codes across sales & commercial functions

 

Team

  • Deputise for the Head of Learning & Development in leading the team of remote Learning and Development (L&D) Managers and centrally-based EKC Corporate Learning and Development Manager to ensure Training needs are aligned and delivered to corporate objectives as required.
  • Proactively identify ways of improving the efficiency and profitability of training delivered within EMEA.
  • Support delivery of in-house training courses, sessions and workshops throughout EMEA when necessary.

 

Other

  • Keep an accurate record of expenditure, informing manager of any variances or projected overspend
  • Carry out evaluation and analysis, acting on feedback where necessary, to ensure high quality service provision and continuous improvement facilitating un consistency in delivery across EMEA
  • Apply knowledge of global and cultural environment to guide decisions and actions
  • Commission & oversee delivery of training courses via external providers where appropriate, securing best value for money, ensuring that opportunities for externally funded training are maximised
  • Demonstrate motivation and drive to achieve challenging work related goals and reach positive business results, pushing work to completion
  • Keep abreast of new styles, techniques & resources to ensure appropriate / effective training delivery
  • Provide other training related activities, including overseas training support as and when required

6.         Working conditions:

 

 

  • Local country office based at EKC, open plan office.
  • Need to be flexible, as the need will arise to work outside the standard office hours.
